1 Thessalonians 5:11 Journaling

Posted on September 25, 2019April 29, 2020 by Debbie

Happy Wednesday! I hope everyone has had a blessed week so far. I am still playing catch-up with my sharing for the Bible Journal with Deb series. But no worries, we will get there together! This evening I am sharing Day 6 Friendship verse – 1 Thessalonians 5:11 Journaling page and my thoughts on the verse.

1 Thessalonians 5:11 Journaling

The CSB (Christian Standard Bible) translation of 1 Thessalonians 5:11 reads: Therefore encourage one another and build each other up as you are already doing.

NIV translation of 1 Thessalonians 5:11 reads: Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.

Honestly, this is something I’ve been pretty good at doing within my friendships. I have probably been lacking when it comes to family and the hubs though.

Probably because we spend a lot of time with family and spouses, that sometimes the little things that bother us may get in the way of us encouraging them. But I am learning to accept them for who they are and it’s an ongoing learning curve for me. I have a Bible study book I am doing.

More about the verse

What was God telling you when you read this verse? Are you an encourager? Do you remember to also encourage your family and spouse? This verse is pretty explanatory, and probably, for the most part, you’ve been an encourager in your friendships and relationships.

What comes to your mind when you meditate on this verse? Write any notes down next to the verse and slide into your bible, war binder or faith journal.

1 Thessalonians 5:11 My Journaled Page

For this page, I used a printout of the verse. I also added a doily and some other embellishments. The entire page was painted with some metallic pigment paints I had. I will show a picture of the paints below.

I didn’t prep my page first, which was a mistake with the doily I added. It made it harder to get it to stick in place. The paint also goes on a lot wetter than acrylics so the page got slightly more wrinkled than normal too. Oh, well lesson learned. So basically I painted the entire page but the area around the verse.

After it dried I added the doily, and the verse I printed out then I dried the page again. As I was looking through my stash this evening I found a few things I thought would look great on my page. So I added a little pocket then put two mini tags inside of it. I wrote the word friendships on one of them. Then I added a little pink bow, ribbon scroll that I wrote the verse on, and a little pink and black heart flag. I finished off the page with pink, white and black dots, the tab and date.

Final Thoughts

I hope that you’ll be able to use these verses in your life and friendships. Throughout my Bible Journal with Deb series, my hopes are to touch as many people as I can. If I bring just one person in a closer walk with God, then I’ve done good in praising Him.
