Honestly, I can’t believe I haven’t shared my 2021 Faith Planner – War Binder, yet. I’ve started referring to my War Binder as my Faith Planner because many didn’t know what a war binder was. They both serve the same purpose – a place to document my walk with the Lord, write prayers, bible study notes, and scriptures. This year I am using a Stalogy B6 notebook which is housed in a Moterm cover, and I am keeping it simple. I will explain more as we go.
2021 Faith Planner
My theme for this year is keeping it simple, less is more and declutter. I am trying to use this theme with everything from cooking to buying stuff. So far so good. Over the years as I’ve created my Faith planners I’d start off with sections, tabs, and tons of pretty little things. Although those are all very appealing and pretty, I found myself not needing most of them. The tabbed sections eventually annoyed me, and all the pretty things undoubtingly got in my way.
Now, don’t get me wrong there is nothing wrong with sections, tabs, and pretty things. They just don’t work for me for the most part. As I mentioned above I am using a Stalogy B6 notebook in a white-beige leather Moterm cover. I have fallen in love with Stalogy & Hobonichi notebooks and have been using them for 2 years now. Pretty sure it’s because the paper in these notebooks is amazing, it’s loaded with pages, and when it’s full I can replace it with a new one. All my notes, prayer, and scriptures are nice in tidy in a notebook.
Another thing I’ve done this year and haven’t before is covering my notebook with some pretty fabric. I also added some fringe and lace to it as well. To finish up my cover I added a little – walk by faith card with some little tiny jewels. My inside pockets currently have a few bows that I made. They will eventually be filled with little note cards that I will later scribble notes on.
2021 Faith Planner – Sections and Pages
Again, I am going with simple, and less is more this year. I will be adding the following sections to my Faith Planner.
- Scriptures – this section will have scriptures that grab me and I want to study more.
- Prayer Requests – any requests I get through here, Etsy clients, and from friends, etc.
- Bible Studies & Books – here I will make a list of studies and books I am interested in.
- Personal Conversations with God – this section is my personal conversations with God. Just little talks with the Lord that are personally about me, my situation, or a personal request.
I didn’t add sections for bible study- sermon notes, or prayers. I pray a lot so, I have a separate prayer journal, you can see how that’s set up here. I also come to the realization that all my bible study notes should be in my bible next to the appropriate scripture.
Why did I start doing this? Well, I believe anyone that picks up my bibles (later when I am with the Good Lord) everything I learned about scripture should be there. If I have all my notes scattered about in different Faith Planners the likely hood of someone missing something important is high. But if it all in my bible then, it’s there in their face. I want it to be easy for everyone to find the goodness in the Lord’s Word.
I have also been writing notes in 5 different bibles that I will give to my children and granddaughters when the time is right. As well as creative bibles that I’ve journaled in. I am hoping that these will lead them closer to the Lord one day.
2021 Faith Planner – Final thoughts
This article is meant for giving insights into how I include a Faith planner in my walk with the Lord. I believe that having one is very beneficial in my closer connection with God. It’s helped my prayer life, and scripture study so much.
There is no wrong or right way to create a Faith planner, you don’t have to have expensive planners & covers either. A simple spiral notebook works too! My Faith planner went from having sections galore to having only ones that “work” for me. If you’re not up to creating a Faith Planner for yourself, you can find some really amazing ones (one shown below) in my Etsy shop FaithNPrettyThingsIf you haven’t watched War Room I can’t stress enough that you watch it. It helped me understand the importance of a Faith Planner – War Binder.
