As I am finishing up my daily devotional in Jesus Always, the final verse to reflect on hit me like a ton of bricks. It was at that moment I knew I’d be Bible Journaling 1 Thessalonians 5:18. The verse reads “In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. (KJV)
It’s something that I haven’t been doing a lot of lately. Truth be told I am pretty sure this was God’s way of telling me to stop complaining, be grateful and thankful. Let me explain that a little.
Remember when I said I haven’t Bible Journaled in a while? Well, I wanted to start on Monday, but life had other plans. Funny thing is life still has plans for me today too. But I decided I was going to spend some time Bible Journaling anyways.
With that said, I normally do my journaling off of a verse from my daily devotional. It’s broken down by dates, so today being July 9th I started there. Why didn’t I just start yesterday or tomorrow for that matter? I was drawn/determined to start journaling today. Well, my friends, I am almost certain God wanted to give me a nice little reminder. He’s always has a way of giving us that little nudge. Thank you so much, my Lord, for getting me back on track.
Bible Journaling 1 Thessalonians 5:18
Again the verse reminds us that in ALL circumstances we should be thankful. It’s not always easy to remember this and I am guilty. I personally have a lot to be thankful for and I am very much so. But I don’t always act grateful or thankful.
We’ve been blessed with a new house that is beautiful, it’s everything we both wanted and more. Since the day we moved in there have been little things, Ok some not so little that need fixing/attention, etc. Instead of focusing on the fact that we have had the means to do these things. I’ve focused on the negative fact that we had to do those things.
We have a couple more things to deal with, not major but they have to be addressed. I know that He’ll get us through it, and I am Thankful that He will.
Bible Journaling – Behind the page
It’s been raining a lot here in Florida, and one of our next major projects has to do with standing rainwater. One side of our house has a drainage issue during the rain. It’s been something that I’ve been dwelling on since I noticed the issue. So I knew that my journaling page for 1 Thessalonians 5:18 would relate to that issue.
That being said, I decided to create a rainy day but instead of dreading the rain my characters are embracing it. This represents what I know the good Lord was conveying to me as I read my devotional this morning. Even when it’s stormy and everything is soaking wet, there is always something to be grateful/thankful for.
I have missed Bible Journaling and my quiet mornings in God’s word. You really never know how much you miss doing something until you aren’t doing it.
I am grateful & thankful to be able to have this time with God. If it wasn’t for my Hubby providing for us the way he does I wouldn’t have this extra time. Also, something I am ever grateful and thankful for.
From now on when I start to complain, I will try to remember that there is so much more to be thankful and grateful for. If you like this article then you’ll want to follow me on Pinterest, and Instagram as I share a lot on them.
