Hello Loves! Hope you had a great week and your weekend plans are amazing. My hope in sharing my Bible Journaling 1Timothy 6:6-10 creative page with you is to hopefully inspire you to seek God. With God all things are possible. – Matthew 19:26.
Bible Journaling 1Timothy 6:6:10
Some of 1Timothy 6:6-10 touched on one of my biggest struggles and one of the reasons I started my walk with God. Let’s see what they say.
But godliness with contentment is great gain. 7 For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. 8 But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that. 9 Those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction. 10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs. – 1Timothy 6:6-10 (NIV)
Personal Reflections on 1 Timothy 6:6
If you haven’t read My Faith my three-part series, it’s an interesting, but lengthy read. I basically pour out my heart and soul explaining how I found my way back to God. But one of the reasons I wanted to find my way back to Him was contentment. Nothing I did, nothing anyone else did for me kept me content for very long.
There was an extreme low where I thought I was a horrible person because of it. I knew that if I didn’t do something I’d be trapped in that lost feeling forever. 1Timothy 6:10 was exactly where I was, I had many griefs. It wasn’t because I was constantly committing various sins either. I just couldn’t find contentment. So these verses were very useful for me and touched an extremely touchy subject.
I am still learning to be content, but now have our Powerful Lord and Savior on my side. If you’re struggling with anything take this from me and direct words from God’s Truth. Seek him, ask for His help, He will give it to you! This is one of His promises to us and from experience, I know He will help. Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. – Matthew 7:7
Bible Journaling 1Timothy 6:6-10
With all that said above and this being a matter of the heart for me, I know God was working in me for creating this page. I started off with an idea and honestly ended up with a page nothing near to that idea. I didn’t even use all the same supplies I had placed out. Below is the picture of the supplies I had planned to use. You’ll notice I only used the black paint, brushes, two of the embellishments, and gesso on my bible journaling page.
Bible Journaling cont.
Like always I prepped my page with the clear gesso and dried it with my heat tool. Next, I used black acrylic paint to paint the edges around the verses and dried the page.
When it was fully dried I use my stickers to create “yes to godliness contentment” along the left side and upper left area of the page. Just under the verse, I added more stickers that said “not”, next to not I added the diamond, heeled shoe and Chanel perfume embellishments. You can find those in my Etsy shop.
Directly under the Chanel perfume bottle, I used my white Uniball Singo pen to write the word “pursue”. Again using my stickers, I added Faith and Love, under pursue. Then toward the middle bottom area, using the white Uniball pen again, I added the remaining traits mentioned in the verses.
I then added little dots and arrows leading from pursue to the various traits. Finishing up I added 3 little crosses to the lower right area and the tab with the verse & date on it.
If you’re looking for Bible Journaling supplies I’ve compiled a list below of the ones I’ve used on the above page.
Bible Journaling 1Timothy 6:6:10 Final thoughts
Again this was a very touchy subject for me, and I believe it was part of God’s plan to remind me why I needed him from the start of my journey with Him. Maybe to set me back on track too! He’s definitely got a way of reminding us, doesn’t He?
Did He remind you of anything in these verses? If so did you write it down? Remember a big part of your journey with God is keeping important things written down. Keep a journal or use a War Binder I love mine and can’t tell you enough how much mine has helped my journey.
I hope you find inspiration, desire and the need to seek God from visiting Faith Crafts and Coffee. Just as He won’t give up on us, I won’t give up on inspiring others to seek Him.
All your life, no one will be able to hold out against you. In the same way, I was with Moses, I’ll be with you. I won’t give up on you; I won’t leave you. – Joshua 1:5
