Bible Journaling Friendship Plan – Day 11

Posted on September 30, 2019April 29, 2020 by Debbie

Happy Monday! I know for many there isn’t anything great about Mondays. But it’s a new day, fresh week and a brand new start, so let’s make it count! So I finally got all caught up on my journaling but now I’ve got to share day 11 and day 12 in our Bible Journaling Friendship back to back. So let’s get on with it shall, we?

Bible Journaling Friendship

Bible Journaling Friendship - Colossians 3-12-14

Colossians 2:12-14 is one of my favorite verses! It talks about the virtues God expect His followers to have. Compassion, Kindness, Humility, Gentleness, Patience, and most of all Love.

These virtues have been on a sticky-note on the door of my craft room. I used them as a reminder to always wear them daily, it was also a reminder to help me with the ones I know I need help with. Of all of them which do you feel you could use a little extra help with?

Colossians 3:12-14 NIV translation reads: Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.

What do these verses say to you? What is God telling you? Which one of the virtues are you lacking? How do you work on that virtue? For me, it’s being patient with adults. I have so much patience when it comes to my granddaughters and children, but lacking it with adults.

Discussing Colossians 3:12-14 further

Colossians 3:13 talks about how we need to bear with each other and forgive each other as God has forgiven us. Ok, this is another one I’ve really had to work on. I am not a grudge holder, nor do I seek revenge. But . . . I have had a hard time with forgiving.

It’s not with everyone thou, it’s more so for the people you don’t expect certain things from. In these cases I have been known to distance myself from the ones I couldn’t forgive. Definitely a work in progress for me, but God’s not done with me yet.

For this page, I use some cutout dresses, a piece of twine, acrylic paints, a black Tombow pen, and a pink Pilot G-2 pen. After prepping my page with a thin layer of Gesso, I added some pink acrylic paint splashes.

Next, I tied little bows in the twine at opposites sides, then added it to my page. I secured it into place with a little dot of tacky glue. After drying the page with my heat tool, I added the dresses with the virtues written on them.

I finished up by putting the words, clothe yourself in above the dresses. Then the words “but most of all, Put on” right next to the dress that had love on it. In the lower right corner, I also wrote the words “forgive one another” as well as the date. Using the pink Pilot G-2 pen I added some little crosses and finished up with black dots.

Bible Journaling Friendship – Final Thoughts

Again I love these verses, they are a great reminder of how we should act, treat others, and carry ourselves in a Godly fashion. No one is perfect and everyone needs a little reminder of these virtues.

If you’re lacking in one or more write them on a sticky note and stick then in places you see often. I have them on my craft room door, everyone walking by, coming in and out of the upstairs hallway, and the game room can see them. A little reminder for anyone paying attention.

Don’t forget to ask God to help strengthen you in any that you’re lacking. If you feel you aren’t lacking in any, then ask God to reveal the one He sees you need help with.

Remember this: Prayers are powerful, but if you’re not praying you’ll never see the rewards of praying.

I hope you’ve been inspired to join in and my series Bible Journal with Deb. I love how my journaling bible is getting full of ways God has inspired me creatively.

Below is the October Scripture writing plan I will be using for my Bible Journal with Deb series starting tomorrow. I didn’t make this one up like the Friendship Bible Journaling Plan. It was shared with me from an Instagram follower.
