Hello Loves! Isn’t it weird how childhood stories tend to sometimes find their way into our adult life? While Bible Journaling Hebrews 13:1-8 a childhood story my grandma told me came back to me. It was such a neat story, which I now believe was her passing along some of her faith. I miss her but didn’t really know her, how does that even fit together. Anyways, let’s get on with our discussion and creative stuff shall we?
Keep on loving one another as brothers and sisters. 2 Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it. 3 Continue to remember those in prison as if you were together with them in prison and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering.
4 Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral. 5 Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”
6 So we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?” 7 Remember your leaders, who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith. 8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
Hebrews 13: 1-3 discussion
Hebrews 13:1 – reminds us that the Chrisitan foundation is built on moral love. We need to show, give love to fellow Christians.
Hebrews 13:2 – we are reminded to show kindness to everyone, and to help a stranger. We never know if the stranger we help was an angel sent by God himself. This is the verse that reminded me of the story my grandma told me. She said that I should always help someone in need, be kind to the kids at school that needed a friend, etc. She then went on to say that God sends us angels to teach us kindness, but we never know who’s an angel or not. So to always be kind.
In Hebrews 13:3 – Have compassion for others struggling, in pain, those that are suffering, etc. Put yourself in the shoes of those who are in these situations.
For Hebrews 13:4 – we learn Christian values for our marriage.
Hebrews 13:5 – another reminder to be content with the simple things, and trusting God’s promises and presence in our life.
In Hebrews 13:6 – we learn the rewards of being content with God’s promises and presence in our life. We can boldly and proudly say that God is our helper. With Him at our sides, we need not be afraid, and we know that nothing thrown at us can harm us.
Hebrews 13:7-8 Discussion
Hebrews 13:7 – Talks about how we should look to the elders who taught us about God, look at how their lives are and seek their counsel.
Finally Hebrews 13:8 – A great reminder of who we can depend on. Jesus is the same today and will be the same 4 years from now. He’s our one solid unchanging foundation. He’s just as faithful to us today as He will be years from now. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever!
Bible Journaling Hebrews 13:1-8
I decided to use Hebrews 13:8 as my main focus for my journaling page. For this page, I created some printables for my Cricut. Everything could have been cut from scrap papers and then placed on the page with Gesso. But I went with clear printable sticker paper and used my Cricut.
I used pink, blue, and purple watercolors for the base of my page. Then I added the stickers I printed out, created a tab with verse and date.
This was a pretty simple page, and by printing the images on the sticker paper it made it fairly quick too. I don’t do these types of pages often, but none the less I think it turned out pretty. What do you think? Oh, I also forgot to remind you to write down your verses, and what you believe God was telling you about it.
Feel free to share this article with anyone you know that needs a reminder of God’s love for us. Also, follow along on Pinterest, Instagram, and Facebook too. You might also like to learn more about keeping a War Binder/Faith Journal a great Bible Study tool.
