Happy Thursday and welcome to Day 1 of 100 Days of Prayer! Today’s prayer focus was on wonder. It was a great reminder that we often take the little things for granted. As well as remembering to step back from our familiarity and comfort so we can see all the little wonders.
Today there were 4 Bible verses that were shared, all of them were great and perfect for the devotion. But the one that really grabbed me was Psalm 139:14 (NIV) which says: I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. This verse is a great reminder to those of us that doubt our worth. We are fearfully and wonderfully made and God didn’t make rubbish. Right. . . Well, it’s clear in this verse that He doesn’t. It’s something I am still learning and focusing on this verse for my prayer was very helpful.
Day 1 of 100 Days of Prayer
I can feel it already that I am going to get a lot of this journal. My hope as I stated in my introduction article to this journal, is that at the end of the 100 days I am a more consistent prayer. But as I worked on today’s journal I also realized that I want to become more focused, and specific with my prayers too. These are real struggles in my faith walk, but I know With God all things are possible. – Matthew 19:26
Did anything from today’s devotion grab you? What are your hopes to accomplish by the end of our 100 Days of Prayer together?
Day 1 of 100 Days of Prayer – My Journal Page
I want to keep the pages for this devotional simple and really focus on what I am learning. As I work through each day I plan on underlining and highlighting the things that grab me and add little notes. As seen in the above image. I won’t be sharing my prayers for each day, which will be on little tags or index cards.
For this page, I added a splash of yellow with my Faber-Castell gelato in the color of lemon. For the little pocket holding my tags, I used a scrap piece of vellum to create it. The edges were created with my decorative edge scissors, and some yellow ribbon I had. Behind the little pocket are some scrap ribbons and a piece of a paper doily.
The little yellow flower is a die cut I made that I added a little flat back gem to the center. For the finishing touches, I added a puffy butterfly sticker and little trail lines of it flying. Then I added some little dots in blue and yellow along the edges of the page and underlined – highlighted parts of the verse. Simple but pretty. The below image is of the pens I used to create this page.
Day 1 of 100 Days of Prayer – Final Thoughts
Again, today’s devotion was a great reminder to step back, open my eyes and see in awe and wonder all the wonderful things God has given me. And to remember that even when I don’t feel it I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
