Hello Loves! It’s Day 1 of My 40 Day Sugar Fast Journey and I am super excited to share some of it with you. It wasn’t a bad day when it came to no sugary stuff. I did yard work so that helped a lot. There weren’t many times of weaknesses today which I am very thankful for. Even so, I know that With Him all things are possible – Matthew 19:26. I did have a slight headache, which was expected.
Day 1 of My 40 Day Sugar Fast
It wasn’t a big note-taking day today. The lesson today was more of a reminder and a good talking too about being an adult. We need to all remember that what we learn on Sunday or in our Bible studies don’t end when we leave Church, close the book. The lesson should follow us into the next day, tasks, week, etc.
Our page heading was Taste and See, which comes from scripture Psalm 34:8-10.
Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.
Fear the Lord, you his holy people, for those who fear him lack nothing.
The lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing.
– Psalm 34:8-10
The point about being an adult was another great reminder. As a God Fearing – God Loving adult it’s time to stop running for the sugary stuff and start running to God. He invites us daily to run to Him, to taste and see just how sweet He is. When we do we will lack no good thing.
Day 1 of my 40 Day Sugar Fast – another great help
The author Wendy shared her walk down memory lane pinpointing when her sugary addiction started. I felt it was important to acknowledge when mine started so I jotted it down in my journal. The odd thing about it for me was that it started later in my teens. Which makes sense because those were rough times for me.
This also helped to clarify when I started becoming a stress eater. Honestly, it was kind of nice pinpointing when it all started for me, even if it brought up some stuff.
Day 1 of my 40 Day Fast – Final Thoughts
It wasn’t a big note-taking day, it was more educating for when things started. I honestly liked the fact that we were all reminded we are adults. We can make the choice to run to God or to sugar, and as an adult, we can also understand (to a point) that God wants to help us. That is a tough realization to chew, but hey as an adult it’s time to keep it real.
I find myself turning back to the notes I shared with you all yesterday. If you haven’t read it yet, please do. It’s filled with so much goodness. At some point I’ll have to sit down and have a conversation with God, I owe Him an apology.
