Hello Loves! I know I am super late in sharing all my Dream Your Heart Out pages. I’ll catch up I promise! So . . . anyways I am excited to share my Day 8 Dream Your Heart Out page and thoughts.
I loved today’s message which was a great reminder of how we shouldn’t compare ourselves with others. It’s tough because we are tempted daily with TV, magazines, social media outlets, and more.
You probably already know this but, I am going to go ahead and say it as a reminder to myself. When we start comparing ourselves with others it can/will eventually turn into envy & jealousy. Both are like venomous poison to our hearts, minds, and souls. But there is help & hope for us!
Day 8 Dream Your Heart Out
Our help & hope is in God, His truths, and His promises to us. First, let’s talk about the truth about how bad comparison, envy, and jealousy is. This brings us to the verse that really spoke to me from today’s devotional. Proverbs 14:30 CSB which reads: A tranquil heart is life to the body, but jealousy is rottenness to the bones.
Reread that scripture, now think about all the little times a tinge of jealousy hit you. For me, that’s a bit more rottenness than I like. Yep, I admit I got jealous many times, but I have God’s truths to help me now.
So, here’s a bit more that I learned in my study of this verse. Our motives, intentions live in our hearts. When they are clear of envy, jealousy, wrath, and, anger we have what scripture describes as a “tranquil heart”. If we have a healthy inner heart then we will have a healthy outer body.
Now let’s look at a heart sickened with jealousy & envy, it starts to decaying and rotting described in scripture as “rottenness to the bones”. Jealousy and envy are like a venomous poison, that eats at your insides eventually destroying the whole you. Don’t worry there is help & hope.
Our help & hope comes from spending daily time with God, studying scripture, and prayer. Strengthen your heart, mind, and soul in God’s truths.
Day 8 Dream Your Heart Out
my page and final thoughts

For today’s page, I added a printout of most of what I talked about above. I then attached a heart with the verse on it to my page, finishing up by highlighting the scripture that caught my attention. A simple but meaningful page.
Final Thoughts:
Today’s message is something I am very passionate about, I’ve been working on this part of me for a while now. God, has shown me many things about jealousy, and I know He’s not done with me yet. When I feel it creeping in I look to Him for help, and His truths to set me back on the right path.
Each time I read Proverbs 14:30 it gets me, to see jealousy in this context it’s ugly. Think about it, jealousy can/will rotten you from the inside out. It’s a horribly slow way to destroy oneself.
We can always find comfort and peace when we spend time with God. If you struggle with any of what we talked about today, I pray that you seek Him. Ask Him to remove any jealous thoughts you may have and replace them with gratitude. It’s going to be ok, we’ve got a trustworthy and faithful God.
