Friendship Bible Journaling

Posted on September 29, 2019April 29, 2020 by Debbie

I have gotten behind on sharing my Friendship Bible Journaling pages. Weekends are spent with family and there are days when I just can’t get to the computer to share. But that’s ok because family time is really important to me. Anyway, this won’t be as explanatory as my previous shares.

Friendship Bible Journaling Day 7

Verse for day 7 of our Friendship Bible Journaling Plan was John 15:13. The CBS translation reads: No one has greater love than this: to lay down his life for his friends.

What was God telling you while you read this verse? Did you write it down? For me, it is something I’ve always struggled with. Friendships haven’t always been something that I’ve put that much value on. What I mean is, I guess I’d often found being alone was easier than the struggles and work of friendships.

Since I’ve started my closer walk with God, I’ve put more interest in friendships. I will give all the glory to God’s work in me. So this verse is something I am definitely working on.

But have you had a friendship so strong and deep that you’d gladly put your life at risk for their sake? Well, this is what this verse means or how I see it. Honestly, I’d love to have one friendship like that. Anyways, below is my bible journaling page for this verse.

Bible Journaling Page – John 15:13

I have always loved Winnie the Pooh and what better way to show friendship than Pooh and Piglet? This was a printable coloring page I found on Pinterest that I shrunk and printed to fit my page. I then used watercolored pencils to color Pooh and Piglet. The little hearts were cut out of paper and gessoed to the page. I also added some color splashes using acrylic paints. The letters for the LOVE were also a printable I found. I loved how this page turned out.

Friendship Bible Journaling – Day 8

Friendship Bible Journaling Day 8

Philippians 1:3-5 the CSB reads: I give thanks to my God for every remembrance of you,  always praying with joy for all of you in my every prayer, because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now.

Basically it tells us to pray for our friends, give thanks to God for our friendships. How often do you pray for your friends, just to thank God for them? Looks like we are supposed to be doing it always.

Bible Journaling Friendship – Day 9

Bible-Journaling-Friendship-Day-9

Day 9 verse was Romans 12:15 which in the CSB translation it reads: Rejoice with those who rejoice; weep with those who weep. What is God telling us to do in this verse? For me it was a reminder to be happy when I see my friends happy, and when I see them mourning or sad I should also mourn with them.

I had fun creating this page, I honestly opened my bible and started putting it together. Normally I think more of how I want to do the page, but not this one. I had some clipboard ephemera and decided to use the two little girl ones and flower you see in the above image. I drew in the cross and used acrylic paints for the orange background.

Bible Journaling with Deb - 9-29

Final Thoughts

I have been enjoying this mini-series and can’t wait to do more with you all. There are only a couple more days then I will be starting the Fall Scripture Bible Journaling Plan. Which I will share that with you all tomorrow. I hope you’ve been inspired to join in and my series Bible Journal with Deb. I love how my journaling bible is getting full of ways God has inspired me creatively.

As I am growing closer to God, many things are happening in my life. I’ve changed my outlook on friends, and relationships. There is an eagerness to build friendships/relationships, excitement to join in fellowship and share God’s truth. Not my doing trust me! This is all God’s doing and ALL the praise and glory goes to Him.

If you enjoyed this article, please share it. Don’t forget to follow me on Facebook and Instagram.

Many Blessings my new friend
