Happy Saturday everyone, it’s such a beautiful day. We are going to be headed out for our walk along the beach. But first, I wanted to share May Scripture Writing Day 2 with you all, as well as the memory dex scripture card I created.

May Scripture Writing Day 2
Today’s scripture is Romans 8:5 which reads: “For those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit have their minds set on the things of the Spirit.”
When I first saw this verse, I wondered how it related to our identity in Christ. It took me a few minutes of studying it before it came to me. But first, let me share my thoughts on the verse in general.
Paul is telling us that as a believer of Christ we should live by the Spirit, not by that of the flesh. When we live by the Spirit, we set our minds on things of the Spirit. The Spirit is the Holy Spirit – God’s Spirit.
Then here’s where the light went off about Our identity in Christ. Our identity in Christ goes beyond just being a child of God, as we trust God, He
comes to live in and with us. With the Spirit alive within us, we begin to think about Godly things too – things that are beyond our daily needs and want. How much more proof do we need than God’s Spirit living in us – with us? Below is a closer look at my page.

Memory Dex Scripture Card

I basically used the same concept as Day 1 Memory Scripture card. You can read more about how I created it here. Below is the back of the card which holds a print out of the thoughts I shared above.

Final Thoughts
At first, it took me a good while to figure out how this verse related to my identity in Christ. But it finally came to me. Did you get it immediately or did it take you some time reflecting on the verse? Hmm, maybe that’s what God had intended for me, for me to just sit and reflect on it?
